In 2016 the members of the NSW Rugby League Referees’ Lawn Bowls Club are celebrating its 50th year in operation. The Bowlers play twice per year, one day at Leichhardt Bowling Club and one day at a Newcastle Club. On Sunday May 1st bowlers are invited to play at Leichhardt competing against bowlers from the Asquith Bowling Club and Leichhardt. The event is a Fours competition commencing at 10 a.m and the cost for the bowls and the luncheon to follow is $25. The 50 year celebration will be held at a Newcastle Club later in the year as the very first Bowls Day played all those years ago was in Newcastle.
