CRL Referees Recruitment and Participation Officer

Congratulations to retired graded member Robert Bowen (#912) on his appointment as Referees Recruitment and Participation Officer with the Country Rugby League.

Statement: Country Rugby League is proud to announce the appointment of Rob Bowen as Referees Recruitment and Participation Officer. Bowen joins the CRL with a wealth of experience in the game both on and off the field with 21 years of on-field refereeing experience and six years as the Secretary of Referees for Central Coast Rugby league. Country Rugby League CEO Terry Quinn believes Bowen’s appointment is crucial to Country Rugby League. “We are very excited to have someone with Rob Bowen’s experience joining the Country Rugby League family,” said Quinn. “The recruitment and retention of referees is vital to Country Rugby League and Rob’s appointment is a positive step forward to increasing the number of referees throughout Regional NSW,” said Quinn. “Rob’s experience will be crucial to creating new pathways for referees to be involved in Rugby League and further their careers with the potential of reaching the NRL.” Bowen admits he is looking forward to starting his new position with the CRL. “As someone who is passionate about Rugby League and the role that referees have in our game, I am excited by the opportunity to join Country Rugby League as Referees Recruitment and Participation Officer,” said Bowen. “Being a referee is a great way to be involved in Rugby League and I’m looking forward to getting out to all of the regions and spreading the word.”
