Max Tomsett

It is with much sadness that we inform you of the passing of Max Tomsett on Friday evening after a long battle with Cancer.

Max was Graded Member number 584.

Graded in 1965 and retired in 1978. Awarded Life Memership in 1979. Max was a member of the Social Committee in 1966, 1971-1978.

A member of the General Committee in 1978 and a Member of the Finance Committee in 1976, 1977 & 1978.

He was Touch Judge coach during the 1990’s.

Max touched-judged the first State Of Origin that was played at Lang Park in Brisbane. You can watch the full game below

Our sincere condolences go to Max’s family especially to his son Dennis who informed us of his death.

Max’s funeral will take place at the Catholic Church in Laurieton this coming Friday 27th May at 10:30am. As a mark of respect, NRL and NSWRL referees will be wearing black armbands this weekend.
