Social Media – Association Duty of Care

Dear all Associations,

The Board of the NSWRLRA asks that your Association Executive are conscious of what is posted on Social Media by your members and with whom it is linked, especially if the member posting is an Office Bearer within your Association.

It is expected that every Association has a code of conduct and that any breach of the said code is dealt with accordingly.

Where there is a serious breach resulting in a suspension or expulsion from your Association, all Associations are to be notified.

This is about duty of care to all and what is appropriate and safe for all.

We have a zero tolerance policy on inappropriate language, hate speech, racism, religion, sexism and pornography.

Kindly take this message in the spirit in which it is intended.

Inappropriate posting is just not refereeing.

Kind regards,

Frank Leonard

EXECUTIVE OFFICER
