A sight many fans will remember well… Wally Lewis takes on Mark Geyer, Game 2, 1991
A wild all-in brawl had started with a grubby Mark Geyer tackle on Steve Walters as the halftime siren sounded. As referee David Manson called forward Geyer and respective captains Wally Lewis and Benny Elias for a stern talking to, Lewis and Geyer became embroiled in a shouting match and continued to push and shove while leaving the field – calling for both Manson and Elias to separate them. For the record, NSW won 14-12 but lost the series.
