Welfare – Mental Health Awareness

To All members and affiliates of the NSWRLRA,

The New South Wales Rugby League Referees Association has been working closely with the National Rugby League to help deliver the National Structure.

Whilst the performance of our officials is important so to is their health and well being.

The NSWRLRA has supported the development and implementation of a number of strategies to raise awareness and support around mental health.

Attached is important information that could assist members of our Association’s. We ask for your support in distributing information and promoting this important issue.

The NSWRLRA also seeking a local Association that is willing to participate in a pilot program on mental health awareness. This would involve a meeting with NRL Ambassadors for about an hour and a half. This would be open to as many of your members as possible. If your Association would like to take part in this pilot please notify Frank Leonard ASAP.
Other strategies will also be rolled out over the coming year.

It is encouraging that the game is now including referees in their health programs. Anything that may assist our members is worthy of our support.

Regards

Paul Simpkins
Chairman
NSWRLRA
